FAQ
Answers to common questions about our travel eSIMs, plans, pricing, installation, top‑ups, troubleshooting, refunds, and account management.
General
What is an eSIM?
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM built into your phone. Instead of inserting a physical SIM card, you install an eSIM profile (usually by scanning a QR code) and connect to a local partner network.
Are these data-only plans?
Most travel eSIM plans are data-focused. If a destination supports voice/SMS, we’ll show it clearly on the plan details (e.g., “Sms/Call Available”).
Can I use hotspot/tethering?
Yes — if the plan includes hotspot, you can share data with your laptop or other devices. We label this on the plan (e.g., “Hotspot Available”).
Which devices support eSIM?
eSIM works on most newer iPhones, many Samsung Galaxy/Flip/Fold models, Google Pixel devices, and a growing list of others. Check the Compatible Devices list on our site before buying.
My phone is carrier-locked. Will it work?
Carrier‑locked phones usually cannot use a travel eSIM from another provider. Your device must be unlocked (SIM‑free) to add and activate an eSIM.
Can I use one eSIM on multiple devices?
Typically no. An eSIM profile is designed for one device at a time. If you switch phones, you usually need a new eSIM (or a re‑issue if supported).
How many eSIMs can I store on my phone?
It depends on the model. Many phones can store multiple eSIM profiles, but only one (or two) can be active at once. Check your device specs for the exact limit.
Plans & Pricing
When does my plan's validity start?
In most cases, validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a supported network (often when you arrive in the destination). We recommend installing at home on Wi‑Fi and activating on arrival.
What is Native IP?
Native IP means your data traffic is routed locally in that country/region (often better latency and fewer geo‑blocks). Some plans use roaming routing instead — it varies by destination.
What is Priority Network?
Priority Network means the eSIM prefers the best partner network available in that destination. If multiple networks exist, it will try to keep you on the strongest option.
How do regional/global plans work?
Regional/global plans cover multiple countries. When you enter a supported country, your eSIM automatically connects to the local partner network there — no need to buy separate eSIMs for each stop.
What are unlimited daily plans?
“Unlimited” plans typically include a daily high‑speed allowance, then continue at a reduced speed (fair‑use policy). The exact daily rules depend on the destination and will be shown on the plan.
Can I get a refund?
If an eSIM is not installed/activated, refunds are usually possible. Once activated/used, refunds are typically not available. If something went wrong, contact support with your order ID.
Installation & Activation
How do I install my eSIM?
After purchase you’ll receive a QR code.
iPhone: Settings → Cellular/Mobile Data → Add eSIM → Scan QR Code.
Android: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add eSIM → Scan QR Code.
Use Wi‑Fi during installation.

What is an Activation Code?
Some devices require a manual setup. The Activation Code is the string you enter when you choose “Enter details manually” instead of scanning a QR code.
What is an ICCID?
The ICCID is the unique identifier of your eSIM profile. Support may ask for it to quickly locate the correct line on your account.
What's the difference between installing and activating?
Installing adds the eSIM profile to your phone. Activating starts using it on a supported network (often when you arrive). You can install ahead of time and activate later.
I deleted my eSIM by accident
If the eSIM was deleted, it may not be reusable on some networks. Contact support and share your order details — we’ll tell you if a re‑issue is possible for that destination.
Can I transfer my eSIM to a new phone?
Transfers depend on the destination/provider. Many travel eSIMs are single‑device. If you’re changing phones, contact support to check if a transfer or re‑issue is available.
iOS asked "abroad or at home?"
Choose “Abroad” when the eSIM is for travel use. If you’re installing before travel, you can still select Abroad and keep the line off until you arrive.
Top-up & Auto Top-up
How do I top up my eSIM?
If top‑ups are supported, you can add data from your account dashboard or via the link in your email. The new data is applied to the same eSIM line.
What is auto top-up?
Auto top‑up automatically purchases a predefined top‑up when your data gets low, so you don’t lose connectivity while traveling.
How do I enable/disable auto top-up?
Go to your eSIM in the dashboard → Auto top‑up → toggle on/off. You can also adjust thresholds and top‑up size where available.
Does top-up extend validity?
Sometimes. Some top‑ups extend validity, others only add data. The dashboard will show whether a top‑up changes your expiry date.
My plan doesn't support top-up
If a plan doesn’t support top‑ups, you can purchase a new plan for the same destination (often on the same day) and install it as another eSIM profile.
Troubleshooting
eSIM installed but no internet
Try this checklist:
• Turn Data Roaming ON for the eSIM line
• Set the eSIM as Cellular Data (primary data line)
• Restart the phone
• Toggle Airplane mode
• If APN is required, set it as shown in your order details

Slow data speeds
Speed can vary by coverage and congestion. Try:
• Switch between LTE/5G
• Manually select another available network
• Move to a better signal area (indoors can be weak)

PDP authentication error
This usually points to an APN or network registration issue.
• Reset network settings
• Recheck APN (if provided)
• Try manual network selection
• Restart and retry in a strong‑signal area

Can I pause my eSIM and use it later?
You can turn the eSIM line off in settings, but validity may still count down once activated. Installing early is fine — just activate when you’re ready to start using it.
My data expired but I had data left
Some plans expire by time (days) even if you still have remaining data. If you need more time, choose a plan with longer validity or a top‑up that extends expiry (if available).
Phone says 'eSIM not supported'
This message usually means the device model or region variant doesn’t support eSIM, or the phone is carrier‑restricted. Verify compatibility and ensure your device is unlocked.
Account, Payment & Refunds
Where is my eSIM after purchase?
You’ll get an email with your QR code and setup steps. If you created an account, your eSIM will also appear in your dashboard under Orders / My eSIMs.
Can I buy an eSIM for someone else?
Yes. Buy the eSIM, then share the QR code (or installation link) with the traveler. Make sure they install it on the phone they will travel with.
Forgot my password
Use Forgot password on the login page and follow the reset email. If you don’t see it, check spam/junk folders.
My eSIMs aren't showing in my account
Make sure you’re logged into the same email you used at checkout. If you still don’t see the order, contact support with your payment reference.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit/debit cards. Depending on your location, additional methods (like Apple Pay / Google Pay) may appear at checkout.
